Thank you for stopping by.
I love variety so I create in various mediums. I am inspired by colour, nature and the emotions invoked by the visual world experience such as sitting by a lake watching a setting sun.
My aim is to bring joy and upliftment through my art and my teaching. I like to think of my work as 'wellbeing on the wall'.
I want people to feel uplifted when they see my paintings and join me for classes because I am passionate about helping others to discover their own inner artist
My story
I turned down a place at art college at 16 because the only thing my young mind could see as a future with an art degree was teaching and at the time, that didn't appeal. Now, in my early 60's, I find myself enjoying teaching the most.
I rediscovered my love for art later in life and accessed as many courses and workshops as I could while working full time. Eventually, redundancy gave me the opportunity to focus full time on my passion and even better, to combine it with my other passion which is travel.
I have been an associate artist for Unison Colour since 2020. You can read my Unison blogs here

Stunning scenery, great food and accommodation and painting! What's not to love?
Immediately I saw ‘Spring Blue’ my heart went in my mouth that it would have sold by it and knew immediately that I had to have it.
Whenever I walk in a bluebell wood my spirit simply soars and the soul is refreshed, they are far and away my favourite flower, simply transforming a wood into a magical place.
I also love impressionist art and simply don’t have the words to describe the beauty that it’s possible to portray.
Mixing those two together how you have done has created pure joy for me and I can lose myself in the beauty of the painting whenever I gaze into it. If I could paint, that is exactly the picture I would create.
Thank you from my heart and I hope to see you painting again soon
Recorded live on facebook, this is a soft pastel paint along of a snow scene.
I created two colour versions of the photo on the right. You can watch the recording of the one above on facebook by clicking the button below
"I had a fantastic day and surprised myself but Julie is a wonderful teacher. So I am not surprised at all I finished the pictures."

"Enjoyed the session - didn't know I could do it. Length of time for doing the practice and final picture was about right. Thank you Julie. Very good teacher and a lovely thing to do.”

“You will not find a nicer or more patient lady, she will always point you in the right direction to improve your art.
Have you ever attended an art or craft fair or even paid a lot of money for a large exhibition, only to come home disappointed at lack of sales. You are not alone!
However, it's not all about sales on the day. With a 30 year career in corporate sales and exhibitions, I have learned how to optimise opportunities at every event. This small, local event generated not just sales but contacts and prospects which eventually turned into valuable leads
Success comes from knowing how to capture and nurture your contacts to turn them into supporters, helpful networks and valued customers.
